So actually, when I said this, I was watching an episode of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Someone was, well, ranting, and then because they weren't paying attention one of the good guys pushed them off a ledge. But I figured Khan would be more recognizable, not that the quote can't be applied to like... all villains ever. Oooooh Khan, you silly man.

I'm probably in the minority on this one...but...
I actually usually enjoy a villians rant. Especially Cavil from Battlestar Galactica. He had the coolest rants. And Khans rants are classic :)

Still,ranting usually doesn't end well for the villain.

Oh, I don't always dislike them, unless they're of the more ridiculous variety. (Going on and on and on about your evil plans to someone before you're sure they can't stop you.) But they're just not very wise.

See yeah, it isn't that the rants are necessarily bad it's just that well, the demotivator said it: they get you no where. They get you thrown off of ledges and your stolen ship blown up while you're still inside, or Superman winning when you could've blown up Metropolis or actually killed him with the Kryptonite instead of saying "I have some Kryptonite that I can kill you with" and then the element or surprise is just ruined. I mean why in the world would you tell the labeled "hero" all your evil plans? I'll say it again: it gets you nowhere. But of course you know all of this.
